Classes & Workshops
Tam’s Measurement Consulting created a series of engineering classes to mentor EM measurement engineers and tool developers. Our classes consolidate theories and practices of the most common EM test and data reduction methods. Material modeling theories, data extraction algorithms, and related mathematics are discussed and presented with easily comprehensible explanations.
We tailor our workshops according to our customers' laboratory equipment and testing needs. Equipment setup, software operation, system calibration, and test procedures are demonstrated during the workshops. We coach test engineers and technicians in performing practice runs and promote discussions on related subjects.
Consultation
Material characterizations, sensor development, permittivity and permeability extractions, and automatic inspection system development are main consultation areas of Tam’s Measurement Consulting. Besides measurement of standalone test samples in laboratories, TMC is experienced in inspection of a test surface embedded in a structure or stack of materials using a variety of custom sensors. We recommend, design, and customize ultrasonic, inductive capacitive, resonant sensors, and portable control electronics for special testing needs.
Software
Tam's Measurement Consulting has decades of application software development experience. Numerous EM measurement software packages have been deployed successfully in the aerospace industry. TMC develops control and data acquisition software for bench top equipment and laboratory test setup integration as well as miniaturize RF electronic and embedded controller for handheld inspection tools.
TMC virtualizes bench top equipment such as network analyzers and communication interfaces to assure long term software supportability. This approach simplifies transition to new hardware when existing equipment runs into end of life or obsolescence problems. Frequently used routines and algorithms are encapsulated to warrant performance consistency in large projects. TMC software codes are supportable, maintainable, and reusable.
